Ten minutes from match to glowing coals, just like it says—I timed it. The galvanized steel feels solid and the handle keeps your hand well away from the heat, which I appreciated after a few burns with my old setup.
I’d always dreaded lighting the grill, but this thing changed that completely—stuff the bottom with newspaper, light it, and the coals are ready in about ten minutes flat. The galvanized steel feels sturdy and the wood handle stays cool enough to grip comfortably while you pour the coals out.
The wood handle barely gets warm even after the coals are blazing, which makes a huge difference when you're grilling on a breezy evening. I had glowing coals ready in about ten minutes flat with just a few sheets of newspaper under the basket.
