The wood grain is really appealing on the table, and it’s sturdy enough that our cast iron server doesn’t wobble at all when we set it down. My counters feel much safer now, and it’s a nice touch for serving guests.

The oval shape is perfect for resting a hot cast iron pan on—it's wide enough to catch any drips and the wood feels sturdy without being bulky. Now I can move the pan straight from the stove to the table without hunting for a trivet.

I was a little worried about heat marks on my new countertop, but this underliner has been a perfect buffer under the cast iron. The wood grain looks nice enough that I just leave it out on the table between uses. It’s sturdy and hasn’t warped after several hot servings.
