I was skeptical about how much heat it could block, but this little holder lets me grab my cast iron skillet straight from a 400° oven without any discomfort. The bright color also makes it easy to spot among my kitchen tools.
The silicone is thick enough that I feel confident grabbing my 400° skillet straight from the oven. Fits snugly on the handle and doesn't slide around.
I was worried my cast iron handles would be too hot to touch, but this silicone holder stays cool even after I pull a skillet straight from a 450° oven. The grip is secure and the bright color makes it easy to spot on the counter.
