I was honestly surprised how evenly this cast iron holds heat — no hot spots even over a campfire. The naturally seasoned surface already had a great non-stick layer for my first batch of biscuits.
I’ve been using this for campfire chili, and the lid fits so snugly that hardly any steam escapes—the flavor comes out incredibly rich. The seasoning holds up well even after multiple uses. It’s become my go-to for outdoor cooking.
The heat retention on this is unreal—my chili was still bubbling a good ten minutes after I pulled it off the coals. The Scout emblem on the lid adds a nice nostalgic touch that makes it feel special.
