The enamel finish is so smooth and glossy, it actually looks nice sitting out on my counter. I've used it with a hot Dutch oven straight from the stove and there's zero damage underneath.
Put these right on my wooden island and the enamel coating is so smooth it doesn't leave any scratches. Handles my largest Dutch oven easily and cleans up like new after every use.
