Grabbed a hot cast iron skillet handle by mistake and this thing didn’t even flinch—the steam barrier plus that thick terry lining really does the job. It’s snug enough that it doesn’t slide around mid-flip, which I didn’t expect from a holder.
The steam barrier is a game changer—I can grab a screaming-hot pan handle and not feel a thing through the thick terry lining. It's held up through a whole summer of grilling without any scorch marks on the fabric.
My old mitts would singe after a few flips, but this holder’s thick terry lining and cotton batting keep things totally comfortable even when I’m searing over high heat. The Pyrotex outer fabric hasn’t shown a single scorch mark after a month of weekend grilling.
