I was pleasantly surprised by how evenly this cast iron bowl distributes heat—no more hot spots burning one side of the steak. The deeper walls also held a full chimney’s worth of charcoal without spilling over.
The cast iron holds heat so evenly that my burgers had perfect grill marks without any hot spots. Cleanup was surprisingly easy too—just a quick scrape and wipe, and it was ready to go again.
Tried this out for a quick steak dinner on the patio, and the cast iron held heat perfectly even with a breeze. The deeper bowl keeps the coals contained much better than my old grill pan.
I’m using it for camp breakfasts and the heat distribution across the cast iron is way more even than my old cheap grill. The hinged grate lets me add charcoal mid-cook without burning my knuckles.
The fire bowl fits perfectly and the cooking grate sits level now, which was my main issue with the old warped one. First cook charred the burgers just right without any hot spots. Solid upgrade for the price.
The cast iron is much thicker than my old one, so it holds heat way better for searing steaks. Cleanup is still a breeze with just a scrape and a wipe.

Even heat distribution right across the cooking surface—no more hot spots burning one side of the steak. The grates sit solidly and the whole thing feels built to last for years.
The cast iron is noticeably thicker than my old one, so it holds heat much better for searing steaks. I love that it fits perfectly and the cooking grates sit level now without wobbling.
